Classes

Classes at Ground & Center are where children and/or their grown ups come to learn the valuable life skills of mindfulness, movement and embodiment. Each class is customized, age and developmentally appropriate, and most importantly: FUN! Because fun is how we learn best. Classes are between 45 min. - 1 hour and are sorted by age. Our class prices start at $25!

We get it! Connecting to our emotions and physical body is hard, especially when our nervous system is dysregulated. Here at Ground & Center, we emphasize the idea that navigating tricky situations is a practice. It’s evolving and ongoing. It’s an exploration of self that is filled with curiosity and compassion. Mindfulness, movement and embodiment practices are an effective and accessible way to bring awareness to your experience and approach solutions in a practical manner!

Providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for all is one of our greatest priorities at Ground & Center. We know that no one gets very far in life by going it alone. Raising, caring for, and educating children is an awesome responsibility. We all have a role to play. Our mission is to be a home away from home for you and your loved ones to explore, create, learn and grow. You want your kids and/or yourself to learn the powerful practices of mindfulness, movement and embodiment, but you’re not sure if it’ll be a good fit.

Classes are carefully constructed with thoughtful lesson plans. At the same time, we recognize that flexibility and offering space for creativity, and meeting needs as they arise in the moment is so important! That’s what mindfulness is at the root– Showing up to each moment with more awareness. Learning useful strategies and effective life skills doesn’t have to be ‘serious’ work. Our goal is simply to get to know ourselves better through age/developmentally appropriate practices that are also playful and FUN. We emphasize ‘Fun’ because that’s how kids (all of us) learn best!

+ Baby and Me (Ages 6 weeks - pre crawlers + grown up)
Bond with your littlest love in this 45 minute practice that offers gentle stretches/movements for baby and grown up, community building, meditation, tummy time and relaxation.

Our Class Menu

+ Toddler and Me (Ages 1-3 years + grown up)
Get your wiggles out! In this 45 minute class engage in playful, fun and interactive activities that introduce simple mindfulness and movement through story, song, music and more. 


+ Mini Movers (Ages 3-6/Parent drop off)
Let’s play! In this 45 minute class, kids will learn age appropriate mindfulness, breathwork, movement and embodiment practices through play, simple sequences, sharing circles, mindful games, and more.


+ Family Yoga (Ages 4-teens + grown up)
Join us for a 45 minute yoga + mindfulness class centered around a variety of themes for the family. In this class you will explore mindfulness, movement and valuable practices that seek to cultivate and nourish a sense of everyday peace and create space for exploring how these practices can impact both your mental and physical wellbeing.

+ Big Movers (Ages 6-9/Parent drop off)
Growing more and more! In this 45 minute class, kids will expand on their skills learning safe and effective breathing and focusing skills, relaxation techniques, more advanced movements/sequences, games and concepts. 


+ Movers and Shakers (Ages 9-14/Parent drop off)
Tween Power! In this 45 minute class, tweens will expand on their skills learning safe and effective breathing and focusing skills, relaxation techniques, more advanced movements, games and concepts. 
 

+ Change Makers (Teens age 14-17/ Parent drop off)
In this 45 minute class, teens will expand on their skills learning safe and effective breathing and focusing skills, deeper relaxation techniques, more advanced movements, games and concepts.
